Recommendations
Choosing for Your Garage
We size the opener to your door and your house, not the other way around.
Room Above the Garage
Choose a belt drive or wall mount to keep vibration and noise out of the bedroom.
High Ceilings or High-Lift
A wall-mount opener works with high-lift track where a rail opener can’t. See high-lift conversions.
Heavy or Oversized Doors
Opener horsepower and drive type need to match the door’s weight and size.
Detached Shop or Barn
A chain drive is durable and cost-effective where noise isn’t a concern.

Opener Installation Questions
Quick answers to common questions. Don’t see yours? Call (615) 500-0326.
Which garage door opener is quietest?
Belt-drive and wall-mount openers are the quietest options. A belt drive is usually the best choice when there’s a bedroom or living space over the garage. Wall-mount openers are also quiet and free up the ceiling.
Can you install an opener I already bought?
Yes. We install customer-supplied openers. We’ll check that it suits your door’s size and weight and your ceiling height, and let you know before we start if anything isn’t compatible.
Do smart openers need Wi-Fi in the garage?
Yes, a Wi-Fi opener needs a reasonable signal where the opener is mounted. If your router is far from the garage, a range extender may be needed. We’ll check signal strength when we install and help you connect the app.
Will a new opener work with my old door?
Usually, as long as the door is balanced and in good repair. If the springs are worn or the door is binding, we’ll recommend fixing that first; a new opener on a door that’s out of balance won’t last.
What is a wall-mount opener?
A wall-mount (sometimes called jackshaft) opener mounts on the wall beside the door and turns the torsion tube directly. It keeps the ceiling clear, which suits high-lift doors, tall ceilings, car lifts and overhead storage.
